School has started!

SIGH, school has started again. It's the first time coming back after a long break like this (3 mths) so I guess it's no wonder that I'm not very used to it. Then again who's used to school? Module bidding has been a mild headache for me this sem, since French 3 clashes with just about everything that I could possibly be interested to take. Maybe next sem I should actually plan my timetable properly instead of just haphazardly throwing modules together... Anyway I was down to 4 modules for a period of time, but I managed to get my 5th module yesterday. Whoopee! Now I have 19MCs, at least that's better than 16...

YAY, school has started again. Met some people taking the same course as me, which is good. Making new friends is fun. Wish I could go join NUS band this sem, but Japanese classes are eating up my Thursday evenings again. I'm pretty interested in going to play with them, especially since Macaroni's no longer there... I hope the band's in proper shape now.

Speaking of bands, NTUSB is showing signs of improvement. At least we sounded significantly more in tune yesterday, but in the ride to supper, Emmy reminded me that my section isn't exactly very tight on rhythm. Ok lah, I agree, but we're not exactly the worst off. But I'll try to bitch at them more often then. I'm getting marginally fed-up with Alex's continual loud playing, and nonsense excuses that the band is too loud. BTW, I think the band is too loud. Our dynamic range (save Hansel and Gretel now) is like fff to fffffffffff. But it's not even loud with proper sound lor, half the people are just happily whacking with no sense of style or music in their minds at all. Which, btw, I feel is sorely lacking in the band. Listening to our rendition of the pieces, I get the impression that our band is a badly rusted machine. The kind that can do nothing but play notes, but even then, our notes aren't very accurate. We can't play jazz, swing, and even our classical feel is abit off. I dunno larh, is it really that hard to feel the music? Counting notes and beats can only get you <---> so far... Feel is important too!! And if you have the proper feel, sometimes you don't even need to do the counting. Haiiz I dunno larh...

Upset people should find people to share their problems with, and people should be more understanding to them
