I Want I Want I Want!

I think I finally understand what's going on... It's weird how you don't really want to buy anything when you've got money and now that I'm scrimping and saving (most of the time anyway), I get these urges to go out and buy stuff. I want a pair of sandals, a sling-bag, an iPod, a new gfx card, a new phone... And... Err... I think that's about it for now. It's still 6 months to my birthday =( Oh well...

Donations anyone?

Test Results From Being Bored...

Youwei, your subconscious mind is most preoccupied with issues around your love life

On a conscious level, you might already be aware that something is troubling you, or eating up a lot of time when it comes to your love life. But it's also possible that thoughts and feelings about your romantic life have been preoccupying your subconscious mind — leaving you with nothing more than a general sense that things just don't feel 100% right in your life though you can't quite figure out why.You may feel your love life is unfulfilling and needs a jumpstart. You might be going through a lot of changes in your love life that you find emotionally draining. You might simply spend a lot of time thinking about romantic relationships. Or maybe you're so frustrated with your situation that you avoid the topic all together.Whichever feelings hold true, your test results indicate that right now, your subconscious mind is working overtime to resolve the issues confronting you in this area of your life — even if you don't feel aware of it.
However, you can learn easy ways to tap into your subconscious mind and discover the source of the issues that are preoccupying you.

Jumbled up thoughts

Why is it that most people look forward to the end of the week, but this one seems so bad... My discman just went kaput. The radio still works, but the cds I put in it refuse to turn and they give me a "no disc" message. Sigh... This means long, boring journeys with nothing to do but look at people and glare at people who annoy me.

Other than that, work's been a drag. Haven't been in properly good moods of late, and now that I've lost my music, it can only get worse. Am I being pessimistic? Probably. But am I being realistic? Most probably. Sigh...

Lots of people I've spoken to have mentioned that I'm mad for wanting to take up courses in the little spare time I've got left. That just means I'll be occupied all weekday evenings till around mid to late June, and Saturdays as well, which effectively just leaves Sundays to recover; though there're too many shows on Sunday that I wanna watch so I guess that won't happen.

If you go shopping, and you see something you like but you don't buy it then, and you see another person with that exact same thing one day when you know there's only one of that item in the world, do you have the right to be annoyed? Even angry? Probably at yourself... I'm just confused...

Now I need to go get an iPod...

For All the Wrong Reasons

Sigh... Being confused and not knowing why, being depressed for all the wrong reasons... This is the situation I'm in now. Why do people always do the things they know are wrong? Why can't we control ourselves and keep from screwing our lives up? Sigh...

Life just really sucks now

Long long ago, in a galaxy far far away...

OMG! I nearly forgot to mention I just watched Star Wars Ep III: Revenge of the Sith yesterday! The movie wasn't particularly fantastic, but as anyone will agree, it's way better than Ep I & II. And the music... goodness... The way John Williams melded old themes and new, mixing them together to weave a brilliant tapestry (I've always wanted to say that =p), just totally blew my mind... I mean, I got goosebumps when the final theme was played! How cool is that?? Ok, maybe it's just applies to the average Star Wars fan and doesn't apply to the rest of you non-believers out there. (May you get zapped repeatedly by bolts of lightning shooting out of deformed alien Sith Lords) Well, the movie aside, the company wasn't bad (*cough*), although the couple to my right had this really annoying woman who kept asking her husband questions like, "Is this the bad guy?", "This bad guy haven't die yet?", "So this guy is the..." blah blah blah. All in chinese too!! Sigh... I'm proud I resisted the urge to slap her... And the kids at the back row... And the guy to the left whose phone rang during the movie... Oh! And I have this sneaking suspicion there're rats in the Tiong Bahru GV cinema; although I can't prove it, there were many repeated squeeking noises to either side of me, which could only have been made by....

A) Rats
B) Big Mice
C) Kids with squeeky shoes trying to tapdance
D) People with vibrating cinema chairs

But all the options seem so plausible...

For Better or Worse

Today's been an interesting day at work. No not because interesting stuff happened, but because possibly interesting future events have been revealed to us lowly temp assistants. Evidently, once a year the people at this great establishment get released 1 hour early from work for the oh-so-noble reason of allowing them to spend time with their families. (Or so that's what some of the people there think) Like... ONE... WHOLE... HOUR!!!! Wow... That's really going to improve family relations and ties huh? Well, there might be some other sinister plot behind this 1 hour early release thing that none of us, or the other lowly-average workers know about, privvy only to the upper management. *shrugs* Isn't as if I'd be bothered I suppose; going home early is going home early nonethless...except that I've got practice after work on Friday too. =p

And that isn't all of it. We've been asked if we mind working an extra half hour everyday, and perhaps half days on Saturdays as well. An extra half hour a day isn't exactly much to get riled about, but Saturdays? I wouldn't mind once in a while when I'm in one of those "cloud 9" moods, but every Saturday's probably going to get old, and fast. I guess we'll just wait and see how things turn out.

Work aside, other than the mild annoying flu (I'm beating you and you know it!), life isn't all that bad. At a recent practice session, Laoshi cut players (Horror of horrors!) from certain parts in certain pieces. Admittedly, I'm probably one of the weakest players in the section at this point in time, and I doubt I'll get strong enough to surpass anyone in the near future, but honestly... being left out isn't the nicest of feelings. However, I wasn't the one in the worst shape that day. Imagine getting left out of nearly every single part where they cut players, and even at certain portions, when you're the only one not playing in the entire section of 9-strong. I shan't mention names, and I most certainly shan't lie and say that she's the most fantastic of players. In fact, I agree with Laoshi and that she really does need a lot of work if she wants to improve, but... well... I just do feel kind of sorry for her. Work hard!

Back to more band affairs, I'm extremely impressed with our alumni that's just been recently formed (or re-formed?). I honestly believe that AC alumni has the definite potential to progress to achieve great things. (*cough*) Yes I know I sound corny, but it's true! With many strong players and very few... Or... (dare I say it?) no weak sections in the band at all, we may well be able to play stuff everyone's thought impossible before. Although (probably as a buffer more than anything else =p) I shall say that this upcoming concert might not be all we're made out to be. I mean, what can you honestly expect from 6 practices? But this is most definitely a large step before the true beginning of the alumni.

My table's a mess =( And yes that little cupboard-like table thingy (that's kinda like a dresser but has bookshelves instead of a mirror) is a mess too.

Foray into the blogging world

Gee... First entry into this blogging thing everyone seems to find so interesting and all. Why? Does this really give you an insight into how people think and work? Or is this just some entertainment for a long day at work/school? Hmm... Most likely the latter. Oh well, can't really fault anyone for anything if I'm going to get into this blogging thing myself can I? =p

Let's see now... Life is pretty mundane now... It's mostly just going to work, then going home and stoning there till the next working day begins. The better part of the week is spent looking forward to Wednesdays, Fridays and of course the weekend. Mainly because there's like band practice on those days. =p (Actually there's practice on Mondays too but looking forward to the start of another long working week isn't really my idea of a good time.) But then again practices are starting to take their toll on my I suppose... Down with a mild sore throat, but I doubt it's anything more than a mere annoyance... And this lack of sleep thing is starting to be pretty pesky as well... Oh well, anyway as I was saying, I can't even go out much for fear of spending all I've earned for that week on one, not really very fun outing. This totally sux, like absolutely really horribly. That trip I'm supposed to be going on better be worth it, otherwise I'm gonna be really annoyed with...erm... myself... And hopefully June won't just totally kill me off entirely when I start lessons on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well (assuming I start with them). I can just imagine my full full schedule now, and it doesn't look as appealing as it did like 2 weeks ago before everything started.

Hmm, I wonder if this makes for a very long first entry. *shrug* It isn't as if I have anything better to do now. Saturday nights are so boring; but at least this one is cool...

Rain is such a wonderful thing.
